My Garden (Dogan Bahce) Part 1

MY GARDEN (Dogan Bahce)

This year we kept our garden smaller in the backyard .......... with the HOT and HUMID summer we have been having no matter how we water or fertilize they don't seem to be so vibrant like the years before. Also the reason for less plants is that the backyard was interlocked and lots of flower beds were gone. With the clearing of lots of shrubs and some plants......I noticed that "Rocky" the Raccoon has moved next door and I don't see Alvin all that much. BUT the SKUNK is still there nightly......almost. Love to open the windows at night for some fresh air but with the aroma of the skunk it doesn't happen.

    1. Hi Janice...that Chipmunk is driving me nuts. The other day I saw 3 of them scurrying around.....so I guess he has some friends.

  4. Absolutely beautiful photos Erica.

I notice you have basil in pots. We have too, dotted around the balcony and on windowsills..supposed to keep the mosquitoes away but not sure it's working!

    1. Hi Ayak....I learned something new...I didn't know that basil was supposed to keep them pesky mosquitoes away.
I love Basil...I had more varieties but that darn Alvin the Chipmunk helped himself...or maybe the skunk. She seems to hang around my garden lately.

  5. Your flowers look lovely. That pesky chipmunk needs to find a new home and take his friends with him - maybe the skunk will follow!
    Have a great week,

    1. I think every home has it's own Chipmunk. Anywhere I've lived we have had them. Thank you for your comment.

  6. Looks pretty vibrant to me. I've never smelt a skunk, but i'm happy to leave that experience on the "undone" list.

    1. OMG!!!! You have never smelt a skunk, consider yourself lucky. I have actually got sick to my stomach when I was walking my dog and the smell was close by. You can smell it for blocks. My dog got sprayed once....well it cost me a fortune to take her to the doggy beauty parlour for a bath. Thanks for stopping by :-)

  7. this is a lovely garden - your photos are beautiful and the use of the "structure elements (as my mother the designer calls them)" is very nicely done. Beautiful photo of your dog.
