Today for outdoor I'm showing the "CN" Tower in Toronto, Canada............where I live.
This tower was built in 1976 and was once North America's tallest freestanding structure. It held the record for 34 years. It has an equivalent floor count of 147 floors.
It also has a 360 degrees revolving restaurant on top which really revolves, by the time you finish dinner you are facing another part of the city.
This tower attracts 2 million visitors a year........it's an icon for the city.
This is driving into the city on the Expressway from the west end and the view of the Tower.
I have lived in Toronto my whole like and I've never been up to the Tower except this summer when my Sisiter in Law came with her husband I decded it was time for me to go up. I've been in tall buildings in New York City and Chicago but never here.............anyway all my friends really have never been there either in the Tower, they say it's for the tourists.
Toronto Island.......this place has gorgeous parkland and there are actually people who live there in a small community. You have to take a ferry across which they run quite often, in the summer time it is extremely crowded, but the gardens have beautiful flowers, lots of yachts and boats, swimming, midway for the kids only to name a few things that go on there in the summer time.
It also has a small airport which is now expanding where you can catch flights to some large cities across North America.

Waterfront condo's and the Expressway on the south side of the city.
The view of the Toronto Island Airport, it basically just has small airplanes. But it is expanding and more flights are landing making it easier to get downtown, but I doubt any huge jets are going to land like at the other airport.
These are glass floor views........I just took a picture from the side. I couldn't step on the glass, being a chicken. It felt like I was going to fall through....very eerie and scary feeling and I wasn't the only one.
Thanks you for taking time and stopping by.......I greatly appreciate any comments.
Thanks for the cyber tour of Toronto. It sure has gone into a metropolis. So many floors, worth waiting for the elevator....tee hee. See you next week.

ReplyDeleteI only go up the CN Tower when we have visitors from out of town, but I've been up a fair number of times (lots of visitors). I STILL can't step on that glass floor! It is the weirdest feeling.....I try and then step back quickly, lol. Great pics!!!
