Teapot and Teacups

Hi to everyone visiting 'Tea Things Tuesdays' at http://shabbypinkandpretty.blogspot.com/.
Thanks to Kim for hosting this and be sure to check out everyone and all their 'tea' treasures!
Teapot and Teacups

This is a teapot that has no label on the bottom and I purchased it because it looked pretty with those colours.

Santa waiting for a cup of some nice hot tea.
I bought these teacups and saucers all four of them for $2, at a 'yard sale'. That was a very good Saturday morning for me. They wanted a buck for each, but if I took them all I could have them for 50 cents each. Sometimes I don't want to get out of bed very early on Saturday mornings and go hunting as my husband said BUT sometimes it is worth it.

This teacup has three different designs around the rim.

Saucer has this sweet lil' pinky rose pattern on it.

Design on the handle.

Christmas LIghts

Thank you to Susan for hosting "OUTDOOR WEDNESDAY". @

---------------------
Christmas Lights

I was picking up my daughter at her friends house and I happen to have my camera in the car so as we were driving home I snapped pictures of these homes with the Christmas Lights.

This use to be my old neighbourhood and I lived in this area well over 30 years. I now live only about 5 minutes away.......next time I will take pictures of the homes on my street with lights. Some people have really gone out of their way and have beautiful displays. I just love this Holiday, especially with all the decorating.

Thank you very much for visiting and I hope that you enjoyed my tour of homes for Christmas lights.

Nativity

"Blue Monday" Nativity Set
Thank you Hostess Sally for hosting "Blue Monday" for some fabulous inspirational ideas and fun!...

Be sure and visit the other participants at http://smilingsally.blogspot.com/

Since it is so close to Christmas I thought I would show my Nativity Set, because Joseph and Mary and some of the Wise Men are wearing blue cloaks and clothes.

This Nativity Set is made out of crepe paper. It is very special to me because my Mom [RIP] bought it for me a long time ago. I wanted it but was newly married and on a budget at that time so she went out of her way and purchased it for me. I always remember it when I put it out on the Holidays.
Baby Jesus.

Virgin Mary.

I love the detail and expression on Mary's face........she really looks like she is praying.

Joseph just looking on.

Meat Pie

Thank you to Miss Gollum for hosting another fun and Fabulous Foodie Friday.
If you want to see more visit here; http://designsbygollum.blogspot.com/ to see more great dishes on her site.

This is a Meat Pie recipe that a Cyber Friend Diane on one of the boards that I belong to submitted this "Meat Pie" recipe. She said that her Mom always makes this recipe for one of her brothers........who when comes home to visit this pie is ready waiting for him. Now Diane makes this pie for her six kids. This pie is the ultimate "comfort" food for me........it is very tasty.

Meat Pie

1 double crust Pie Pastry (either home made or store bought)

Filling:

1 tbsp.. oil

1 ½ lb. ground beef
½ cup chopped onion
1 can French style green beans (drained)
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. sugar
¼ tsp. pepper
¼ tsp. oregano
1 can condensed tomato soup (I use Campbell’s)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees..........

Heat oil in skillet and sauté up the chopped onion.
Add the beef and cook until browned.

Remove the meat from the heat and add the salt, pepper, oregano, sugar, soup and green beans. Stir well.

Roll out one crust and fit into a 9” pie plate.
Add the filling to the crust.
Roll out the second crust and fit over the filling.

Crimp the edges of the pie to seal in the filling.

Poke some holes with the tines of a fork or a knife tip to allow for steam to escape.

Brush the top pastry with a beaten egg.

Place on a cookie sheet which has been lines with parchment and bake for 40 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.

Notes:
I use the Pillsbury ready made pie crust, I found that it saved me time and turned out well. My family doesn't like oregano so I omitted that and it turned out fine. I didn't have any green beans in my pantry so I threw in a handful of frozen peas and my family enjoyed it better, but I guess it is what you prefer....As you can see my husband likes things more baked, well over baked. You should see how he toasts his toast, most people would be scraping the burnt parts but that is how he likes it.

This is my leaf design that I did with the scraps..................

Chalkware Figurine Ladies

Please join Leigh at Tales from Bloggeritavillehttp://lbratina.blogspot.com/

Don't forget to look at the participants for some exciting fun........and interesting things.

Chalkware Figurine Ladies

These are my 2 Chalkware Ladies.......they are my favourite two pieces. I have them on the front of this 19th century French Canadian cabinet.
I believe that they were made to give away as prizes at Carnivals, circuses, etc.......in them old days.

One day I was at this Flea Market outside the city and there was a booth with this real mess of a set/up. Nothing was put nicely or on shelves. This poor man had everything in these big bins just piled up high. These are my favourite type of dealers........I think becuase of the 'hunt' for something special. Well to make a long story short I saw this lil' face peeking amongst the junk and I pulled her out and fell in love with her. The junk dealer said there is another one someplace.........so we went through the bins and voila! I found her twin.

The junk man told me he would ask normally $20.00 for each but since I was so excited by them he gave them to me both for $5.............wow! I thought that was a good deal.

One Lady with her Russian Wolfhound dog.

Here are two close/ups of each chalkware lady........they are a lil' chipped but I guess with years of handling it happens.

Thank you very much for stopping by and be sure and visit the other participants.......
.....have a great day!
